MY STORY

I am blessed to live in Howick in the KZN Midlands, one of the most picturesque parts of South Africa.

As a relative newcomer to the art scene, I have found so much pleasure in exploring the intricate textures and layers that one builds into any animal or bird drawing.  My work is unashamedly photo-realistic and I can get quite lost in the moment as I zone in on the fine details of line and shading to bring my subjects alive.  I generally keep the surrounding environment uncluttered so as to focus on the animal itself.
Having a photographic background has also been hugely helpful as was the support of my late husband, and my many photography friends who feed my passion with their exceptional images.
Being tutored by well-known local artist, Vince Reid, has been inspirational as well as providing much needed input to my artistic journey.
